Doctor’s update on defender’s injury will come as a boost for Tottenham
Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Injury expert Dr.Rajpal Brar has shared the latest on Ben Davies’ injury.

The Tottenham veteran was given the start in the left-back position in the absence of Destiny Udogie against Arsenal, but he picked up a calf injury.

Ange confirmed his injury in his press conference before the Chelsea game, claiming that he will be out for the rest of the season.

However, as per the latest update from Dr Brar, the injury might not require Ben Davies to undergo a surgery, which will come as a boost for the player.

While acknowledging the seriousness of the injury, the doctor suggested that it may not be very serious, and with proper rehabilitation, Davies should regain fitness in time for the pre-season without the need for surgery.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said:

“Davies has picked up a calf injury and it does appear to be a serious one which has seen Ange ruling out of the remaining games.

“If he gets through rehab appropriately, he should be ready for pre-season and not need surgery.

“It may be too soon to assess and perhaps the first or second week of June will provide a clearer picture as to whether or not a procedure is needed but as of now, it’s unlikely.“

Tottenham have no left-back defender at the moment. Ange was forced to start Emerson Royal against Liverpool and the Brazilian had a nightmare of a performance.

He was eventually replaced by midfielder Oliver Skipp who played in the inverted left-back position.

Ange might continue fielding Skipp at left-back for the remaining couple of games.
