However, it’s hard to overlook just how terrible his production profile is. 2023 was the first time Legette exceeded 29 receptions for 170 receiving yards, and one must wonder why he couldn’t earn a spot in the offense before now. Yes, there are some excuses to be made, but you can always find ways to justify poor performances. Back in 2021, everyone believed Terrace Marshall’s poor college stats were due to the presence of Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase. As it turns out, Marshall wasn’t good enough to earn targets early in college, and that carried over into the NFL.

Perhaps Xavier Legette can be an outlier and establish himself as a reliable NFL receiver. However, betting on outliers is a great way to go broke, so despite what Marc Ross says, you shouldn’t invest anything more than a third-round pick in Legette during a rookie draft.
