MLB strikeout props for 5/13: Fade Reds' Ashcraft against the Snakes

Coming off a winning week in strikeout props, we're looking to keep the momentum rolling into the new week. Let's start off strong with our three favorite strikeout props for Monday's MLB slate.

Sean Manaea under 4.5 Ks (+122 FanDuel)

Phillies at Mets, 7:10 p.m. ET

Sean Manaea can't be excited to face this red-hot Philadelphia Phillies lineup. In 38 combined plate appearances against the New York Mets left-hander, current Phillies hitters are batting .469 with a .455 xwOBA and a .696 expected slugging percentage. Woof. Philadelphia also has the second-highest batting average and OPS in the league over the last 15 days. Manaea has gone under 4.5 Ks in four of his last five starts, and this isn't a great matchup to get back on track.

Shota Imanaga over 5.5 Ks (+120 DraftKings)

Cubs at Braves, 7:20 p.m. ET

Shota Imanaga still isn't getting enough respect in the betting market. The star rookie has reached the seventh inning and recorded at least seven strikeouts in three straight starts, and he continues to force swings and misses at an elite rate. He ranks in the 97th percentile in chase rate and the 74th percentile in whiff rate this season. The Atlanta Braves might seem like a tough matchup, but they have the third-highest swing rate, the fifth-highest whiff rate and the second-lowest zone contact rate this year. Atlanta also has a higher strikeout rate against lefties than it does against righties.

Graham Ashcraft under 4.5 Ks (-130 DK)

Reds at Diamondbacks, 9:40 p.m. ET

This is a brutal matchup for Graham Ashcraft. The Arizona Diamondbacks have the second-lowest whiff rate, the third-lowest strikeout rate and the third-highest zone contact rate in MLB this season. Current D-backs hitters are striking out only 14.1 percent of the time against Ashcraft in 64 combined plate appearances. Ashcraft has gone under 4.5 Ks in four straight starts, including his last start against Arizona in which he fanned only two batters in five innings of work.
